Facebook Messenger is getting ‘unsend message’ feature

Facebook always focusing on update its messenger apps and now the messenger app is going to have the new feature and we are loving this feature. Messenger will soon get the anticipated remove/unsend message. Now users can recall what they have sent on messenger. This feature is also same like on Whatsapp. In Whatsapp users are able to delete messages from both sides after delivered or read.

According to TechCrunch, Facebook’s executive team had the option to retract (unsend) messages and were using it quite often while not releasing the same feature for the public. Once the news got leaked, Mark Zuckerberg received a lot of backlash from the public.

Jane Manchun Wong shared the screenshots of the new feature from the Messenger app for Android reveal that the company is making progress on adding the new feature for all of its users. The option is still not available to everyone, in fact only a handful of users have experienced this feature as of now.
Unsend messages on Facebook Messenger

While now users can't retrieve sent messages but after arriving the new feature user can delete messages from both sides using the unsend button. it should be noted that there is a certain time limit for this option i.e. the user would be allowed to take their message back for only a set amount of time. So users will not be able to unsend it if the recipient has seen it or a certain time frame has passed. So, basically, this feature follows the same principles of the ‘delete message for everyone’ option in WhatsApp.

There are many unknowns right now, but that's probably fine since Facebook is likely to iterate on the design implementation before a big-scale rollout. One of the biggest questions surrounding this is sure to revolve around the number of time users will have before being able to retract a message, and currently, that seems to be a complete unknown. It might be fair to let the timer be activated as long as the message hasn't been read.

We will let you know when this feature is available keep in touch with Daddy's Tech.
