Huawei is working on foldable smartphone and we already posted about upcoming foldable smartphone by the company. its looking like that Huawei and Samsung are in race to beat each other in foldable smartphone market in 2019.

Samsung is already working on its "Galaxy F" not Galaxy X and it will be launched in 2019. Huawei is one of the biggest tech company and wants to be first in foldable smartphone market by launching their foldable phone before Samsung at any cost. This is a significant move by Huawei. What’s more, the fact that it isn’t bothered by the profitability of this handset, as detailed below, shows that it is taking this new design paradigm very seriously.

Huawei is clearly confident that it will pay dividends in the long run, as it (NOT Samsung) would be first to market with a high-end, foldable smartphone.

Huawei's foldable phone is expected to be produced in limited quantities.  NIKKEI  said:

Huawei's planned volume could be limited to some 20,000 to 30,000 units, or even less, for a small group of first-wave adopters. The effort is mainly to demonstrate its technology capability and to attract the industry's attention and media coverage."
Huawei wants to release its foldable phone in early 2019 and if it happens then Huawei will beat Samsung because we don't have launching dates for Samsung's Galaxy F.

Huawei will use OLED foldable display panel from BOE (A Chinese display maker). Here's video of the technology:

According to Yuanta Investment Consulting analyst Jeff Pu the product will hit the market by “very early 2019.

So let's see who will be first in foldable smartphone market.
