Dear Readers,

All listed above are the breaking news which has been circulating on Internet, TV, News and Social Media(s). Although huge criticism is being made on safety arrangements, awareness & quality of rescue systems e.t.c yet it is time that we have to understand the importance of “Swimming” also as “A Life Saving Skill”.

Accidents are part of life (don’t misunderstood this line). Primarily its each and everyone’s responsibility to be careful and prudent in any activity which can cause loss / damage to anyone’s life. Government can’t take refuge behind lame excuses (whatever).

Through this activity / skill (Swimming) one can not only save his / her life yet he / she can safe others as well.

Besides the above recent incident there are several other same incidents which use to happen every year in Pakistan; particularly in Summer Seasons.
Some of incidents happened previously are listed below.

Below one is the good article to better understand the severity / probability of such instances in past. Article is also about need of health education and promotion campaigns coupled with public service announcements using print and electronic media during the months of summer to help beach-goers in Karachi to enjoy beaches while taking adequate precautions and being safe.

Suggestion:
My humble suggestion to governmental authorities is to take serious steps on introducing and educating importance of “Swimming – A Life Saving Skill / Activity” to general public and Learning Swimming should be mandatory in Schools, Colleges & Universities.
Perhaps through this way we may save our Young Generation likely to become Scientists, Players, Engineers, Doctors, Researcher, Lawyers, Lecturers etc from DROWNING.
Also please be informed that westerns are far ahead from us that they are even teaching swimming to their young babies including infants, toddlers and preschoolers. See Link http://www.swimbabes.com/
